2026-07-30 CKPower Wins Two Thailand-Japan Decarbonization Awards 2026

CKPower, one of the region's largest producers of electricity from renewables, has received two prestigious awards at the Thailand-Japan Decarbonization Award 2026, organised by the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan).

The company received a Golden Award for its "Waste and Wastewater Management in Power Generation Processes" project at its Bangpa-in Cogeneration Power Plant in Ayutthaya province. Through optimised lubricating oil management and improved water efficiency in its cooling system, the project achieved a reduction of over 743 million litres of water consumption, saving over 19.5 million baht. It also reduced lubricating oil usage by over 28,000 litres, saving over 2.6 million baht, and cut greenhouse gas emissions by over 95,000 kg CO2e.

CKPower also received a Silver Award for its "Waste to Value-Hinghoi: Preserving and Restoring Natural Resources" project at the Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lao PDR. This initiative successfully transformed organic food waste from within the plant into 2,665 kilogrammes of fertiliser per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions from waste burning by over 3,840 kg CO2e. The project also helped local villagers save over 72,900 baht per year in fertiliser costs.

Both projects form part of CKPower's broader strategic framework aimed at balancing environmental conservation, power management, and greenhouse gas reduction, in line with the company's stated ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

The awards were established to recognise organisations that develop and apply technologies and innovations delivering tangible greenhouse gas emission reductions, reflecting a growing regional focus on decarbonization across Thailand and neighbouring countries.
